Resident Evil 5 -Xbox360-
Resident Evil 5 -Xbox360-

Review by Pete
Resident Evil 5 (RE5) is an above average shooter, surrounded by a creepily dark and beautiful setting. #5 stays true to its predecessors by maintaining that creepy feeling and being an overall high quality product, but does RE5 live up to all the hype? Not quite, but it is still a fun game.
Resident Evil 4 redefined its own franchise, and redefined the horror game genre. It is considered by many as the best game of the last generation of consoles. It absolutely blew my mind away. Since it was originally released on the Gamecube, it was ported to the PS2, PC, Wii, and then Iphone. And now Capcom has to make a follow up, and they did a pretty good job with RE5.
It is hard to compare RE5 on its own merits, because it is so similar to RE4. When i think about every aspect of game, I think “did they do this part better or worse than RE4?”. And many times I favor RE4. So I’ll try by best to just judge RE5 alone.
Re5 is set in Africa, where we follow Chris and Sheva. All I can remember about the story is that I needed to kill African zombies. There were so many zombies, and I wasn’t about to let them eat me. I shot the zombies in the face and in the chest, but mostly in the face. If you shoot them in the face, they’ll recoil back and it will allow you to walk up to them and do some kind of special move. There was some kind of storyline throughout the game, it included people talking about getting revenge for something, or they needed to get something, but I wasn’t paying much attention. I was determined to kill zombies.
I killed so many African zombies. The game should have been called: Resident Evil 5:Kill African zombies. OK OK, enough of that. To kill these zombies, you’ll need guns. A lot of guns. and A lot of ammo. You’ll need to actively search the levels for spare ammo and secret weaponry. Someone has gonna kill those zombies, and if you run out of ammo, you’ll surely be over run.
One fun thing about the game is that you can play it split screen! You’ll either play with a friend on the same console, or you can play system link or on xbox live. This is really awesome. Unfortunately if you don’t have a friend to play with, you’ll have to baby sit the computer AI as they attempt to conrol Sheva. And you can’t disable her.
I played RE5 only recently, and I did have a blast. Some of the dialog is cheezy, and there is not much character growth. But the game is still very fun. And the only reason I play games is because I have fun. If you have desires to shoot African zombies in the face with shot guns, then this game if for you. 4/5
